Nice to meet you. I am Yongtae Kim, a software developer researching the brain.

I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at KAIST in the Department of Bio and Brain Engineering and the School of Computing. Currently, I am conducting research in Professor Seung Woo Lee’s Laboratory, focusing on Simulation-Driven Optimization of Visual Cortical Prosthesis. I am also working with Professor Young-Gyun Park’s Laboratory, where I explore advanced brain mapping techniques and neural circuit analysis.

My research interests center on the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence, particularly projects that apply AI methods to understand brain function. I focus on developing technologies that can help restore vision for the visually impaired through brain-computer interfaces and neural prosthetics.

I have built my career as a software engineer in South Korean startups. Until 2023, I worked as a backend engineer at Ably Corporation, the largest women’s fashion platform in Korea, developing features related to delivery and user convenience. Before that, I worked at UniqueGood Company, which operates the interactive content platform Realworld, where I developed and improved backend functionalities necessary for the platform’s operation.
